About Weekend Wok
Weekend Wok is a small set of free calculators for stir-fry night at home: a sauce builder, rice-to-water ratios, a stir-fry timing planner, a dumpling calculator, noodle portions and a wok seasoning checklist. Every amount comes in spoons and cups with millilitres and grams alongside, so you can cook from whatever measures are in your drawer.
How it works
Everything is worked out in your browser. What you type into the calculators stays on your device: there are no accounts, no forms to send and no cookies. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type into the tools. The privacy page has the details.
Where the numbers come from
The sauce styles, ratios, portions and method notes are our own, written as starting points for home cooks. Food-safety statements and nutrition figures are cited on the page where they appear: safe cooking temperatures from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service and FoodSafety.gov, cooked rice advice from the UK Food Standards Agency, sodium and ingredient weights from USDA FoodData Central, and daily sodium and salt guidance from the FDA and the NHS. Smoke points come from the published sources named under the table.
Please cook with care
These are kitchen calculators, not medical or dietary advice. If you have been told to limit salt, ask your doctor or dietitian how the sodium estimates fit your diet. Check meat, fish and dumpling fillings with a thermometer, and follow the packet for rice and noodles: brands and pans differ.
